Closed Adoptions

In a closed adoption the adoptive family has no contact or exchange of information with the birth family for full privacy.

Testimonials

"I want to know where my birthmother is, what she looks like, and if I'm anything like her."

"I would have liked a medical history. A medical history could potentially have saved me a lot of time and trouble and maybe some of my health."

"I feel like I am missing a whole side to myself."

Things to Consider

While closed adoptions may provide full protection to the families, this can be at the cost of the adoptee's feelings. Some adoptees may be unaffected by the lack of contact, however many adoptees become curious over time about where they came from. This can lead to hurt feelings if/when they decide to reach out to their birth parents.
