My Adoption Story

Hello! My Name is Zoe and I am a current student at Florida State University. I was originally adopted from Guatemala and have grown up in a closed adoption. I have always wondered about where I come from and at times wished I could experience what an open adoption is like. This is also because I had a transnational adoption and feel separated from my culture at times. Growing up in a closed adoptions has also affected me in smaller ways such as during visits to the doctors office when they ask about my family medical history. Regardless, I love my adoptive family and wouldn’t trade being a part of their family for anything!
